A paraglider pulled from the sea off the South Hams coast today, 23rd July has died.
Emergency services were alerted to a man in the water near Hallsands at around 2.35pm.
Coastguard crews, RNLI lifeboat, air ambulance, ambulance crews and police attended the incident.
The man was pulled from the water and CPR was carried out on the beach, but he died at the scene.
A second paraglider is reported to have landed safely at Hallsands. The relationship between the two is not known.
Kingsbridge police said on Facebook:
“Emergency services were called to a cove near Hallsands this afternoon after an aviation incident involving a paraglider. Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends,”
