A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a collision in Newton Abbot this afternoon.

The collision happened on Ashburton Road between Mile End Road and Coombeshead Road.

The Road was closed to allow an air ambulance to land.

The pedestrian, reported by locals as a schoolgirl was taken to hospital by land ambulance.

The severity of the pedestrians injuries are not yet known. It is not thought they are life changing.
