Thousands sign petition hoping to save seized dog Stella

Police release statement regarding seized dog Stella

Thousands of people have signed a petition to save Stella, a dog seized by Devon and Cornwall Police in 2014.

The petition titled ‘Save Stella the Pitbull from being destroyed’ was set up by Jo Noble on Change.org and has over 11,000 signatures.

A  destruction order was passed by Torquay Magistrates’ Court on 8 February. Stella’s owner has appealed against her destruction and she will remain in kennels until the outcome is known.

Stella has spent the past 2 years in kennels, she was deemed  too ‘dangerous and unpredictable for kennel staff to walk. A BBC report showed her in a small kennel playing with a ball (more here)
