​Police have appealed for information after a stabbing in Stoke l, Plymouth left a man in a critical condition.

The incident happened last night (22nd December) at around 9.20pm.

Two police community support officers who were at the cordon of a major fire in Albert Road were approached by 31 year old man who had sustained a number of stab wounds. The man collapsed and the PCSOs administered first aid until paramedics arrived. 

The victim, from Plymouth was taken to Derriford Hospital and remains in a critical condition.

Police enquiries led to a property in nearby Exmouth Road where it is believed the assault took place.

Two men, aged 58 and 46, were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remain in custody at Charles Cross.
