Police appeal for information following attempted robbery

Police in Devon are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Chudleigh Knighton last week.

A man entered the outreach post office in the village hall brandishing a knife, threatened the sub post mistress and demanded money.

The incident happeded at approximately 2.30 pm on Friday 24th July.

A member of the public in the premises at the time, challenged the man and the offender consequently made off on a pedal cycle towards Bovey Tracey empty handed.

Thankfully no one was injured during the incident.

The suspect has been described as a white man, thin build, aged in his early twenties and wearing a black cagoule style jacket with the hood up and carrying  a black rucksack.

Police area appealing for witnesses to this incident and anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation are asked to contact police on 101 or 101@devonandcornwall.pnnpolice.uk  quoting crime number  CR/051618/15 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111or report online atwww.Crimestoppers-uk.org
