Police search for knifeman after armed robbery

Police were called to M&S news in Old Torquay Road, Preston this morning to reports of an armed robbery.

Cash was stolen in the robbery by a man who threatened staff with a knife.

Police searched on the ground, assisted by the police helicopter.

The robbery happened within 24 hours of an incident in Paignton in which a man demanded money from Natwest, claiming he had a weapon [Read more here: https://wearesouthdevon.com/police-out-force-following-natwest-security-incident/ ]

It is not known at this stage if the two incidents are linked.
