The fire service were called to reports of a barn fire at Bovey Tracey today.

One fire appliance from Bovey Tracey, one from Moretonhampstead, one from Newton Abbot and the Water Carrier from Torquay were mobilised to the incident at 14:41.

Five two day old puppies were also rescued, sadly three puppies died at the scene, the other 2 were treated with oxygen therapy. The mother escaped unharmed.

“We have only had this vital kit for a few weeks and it’s paid off already, and hopefully will save many more loved pets in the future,”
