Road closed following serious collision in Torquay

Update: The road is now open.

Newton Road in Torquay remains partially closed following a serious collision in Torquay this morning, Sunday 10 January.

The collision happened on the A3022 near Torre train station in the early hours of this morning. Residents near the scene state it happened around 2am.

It is unclear how many vehicles were involved.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene.

Inrix Traffic states: “A3022 Newton Road in both directions closed due to accident between B3199 Hele Road (Lowes Bridge traffic lights) and St Michaels Road.
“Traffic is coping well. Affecting traffic in and out of Torquay.”
