The search for the owner of a dead cat found in Torquay earlier this month continues.
The cat, found dead and smelling of petrol in a car port in Ellacombe has since been cremated.
The large male tabby was found on Wednesday evening, 9th October in Churchward Court, Princes Road.
The local resident who found the cat contacted The Feline Cat Network who scanned the cat but unfortunately the cat was not microchipped. The cat was then taken to Bay Vets. It is believed that the cat died from the fumes of the petrol.
The cat had a purple collar and was not neutured.
The cat, now named Mike is at Valley Pet Crematorium.
They posted via Spotted Torquays Facebook page this morning: “Hello Spotted, please could you post this update on the sad story of Mike, the poor cat doused in petrol? His ashes are resting in this casket in the hope that his owner will be found. If nobody comes forward he’ll be safe here with us at Valley,”
Anyone with information regarding the incident can call The Feline Network on 01803 392550 or Bay Vet Group on 01803 314940.
The incident has been logged with the police. ref: CR/093195/19.
