Ever wanted to explore a museum at night by torch light during Halloween, or spend the night sleeping next to a human mummy in an ancient Egyptian gallery? Well now you can this October Half Term week at Torquay Museum, which has seen its fair share of ghosts over the years. There’s a unique and fun-packed week of events planned at Torquay Museum to celebrate October’s national Museum’s at Night week and Halloween.
Events include:
A Family-Friendly Evening Torchlit Exploration of the Museum in the Dark, Thursday 27th October, from 5.30 – 9pm. Come in Halloween fancy dress, win a prize for the best costume, watch a spooky film in the Museum’s cinema, follow the ghostly trail and explore the Museum by torchlight. Tickets are £10 each, £35 for a family of four. Dinner in the Museum’s café is also available as an optional extra. Booking for this event is essential as places are limited.
Sleepover at the Museum, Friday 28th October, 5.30pm until 9am Saturday 29th. The cost is £20 per person, or £65 for a family of four. Dinner and breakfast is available as an optional extra – contact the Museum’s cafe for further details. Booking for this event is essential as places are limited.
Halloween Ghost Hunt for Adults, 8pm Saturday 29th October until 2am Sunday 30th. A real ghost hunt for the braver adults (accompanied children aged 14 and over are also welcome). Torquay Museum has seen its fair share of paranormal activity on past ghost hunts, so this one will not be for the faint hearted. The evening is led by experienced local ghost hunting team, Investigators of the Paranormal. Tickets are £25 each, with dinner as an optional extra.
A free spooky film daily in Torquay Museum’s cinema, plus Halloween crafts & trailsthroughout Half Term, Monday 24th – Friday 28th October, 10am – 4pm. Standard Museum admission prices apply – pay once and get in free for a year
