Police posted a warning to parents on social media last night after a teenager boy was seriously injured after falling through the roof of a derelict building.
The 15 year old boy was taken to Derriford hospital. Police have asked parents to ensure their children know the dangers of entering derelict buildings.
A spokesperson for Kingsbridge police said on Facebook last night, 20th March:
“This evening Police from across the South Hams assisted other Emergency Services at a derelict building where a 15 year old boy had fallen through the roof and was laying injured. The boy is currently in Derriford Hospital with serious injuries.
“This incident highlights the importance of staying away from such buildings. We had a spate of calls recently of teenagers entering a derelict building in Salcombe.
“Please ensure your children are aware of the dangers and consequences of entering such premises.”
