Teignmouth’s Beachcomber café severely damaged by fire

A cafe in Teignmouth has been severely damaged in a fire late last night, 25th July.

The fire service received several calls reporting the fire at the Beachcomber café on Teignmouth Promenade at around 10.45pm

Three appliances from Teignmouth, Dawlish and Torquay, and an Operational Assurance Officer, were initially mobilised to the incident followed by an appliance from Paignton.

The police also attended due to large crowds

The main fire was extinguished by 11.30pm,  with crews continuing to damp down and ventilate. 

The kitchen measuring 8m x 10m was severely damaged by fire. Remainder of the property severely damaged by heat and smoke. 

Fire investigation is being carried out.
