Collaton St. Mary is also closed along with Galmpton Primary and Churston Ferrers Grammar School.

A message sent to parents said: “Dear parents/carers we have been informed that there is a suspected case of Coronavirus at Churston Grammar school. We have made the decision to close Collaton for one day. This will give senior members of staff time to be properly briefed of the suspected case. Our approach is a protective approach for all concerned but particularly children of their age. We anticipate being able to update parents by the close of today and are hoping the school will reopen tomorrow.
We would like to thank all concerned for their patience and apologise for the inconvenience that this inevitably causes but we are sure that everyone will understand we are doing everything in our power to guarantee the healthy and safety of all.
Kind regards
Mr Nelson-Smith”

Over 11,000 people in the UK have been tested with 36 people confirmed as having the virus.

This is a breaking story and will be updated as unformation becomes available.
