Torbay Culture Board, working with the TDA, recently hosted the second Torbay Culture Forum event, Culture: Working Well, which took place at The Grand Hotel in Torquay on Thursday 2 July.

Torbay Council’s Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours, Councillor Nicole Amil said: “This was a highly successful event at which delegates were offered a mixture of presentations from successfully funded projects, small group question and answer sessions, workshops and one-to-one surgeries with a wide range of funding body representatives.

“It was fantastic to have Active Devon, Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Children in Need, Devon Community Foundation, Heritage Lottery Fund, RIO (Real Ideas Organisation) and the Torbay Development Trust all present to give information, help and advice.

“There were also networking opportunities for delegates to share project plans and explore partnership bids, helping realise the benefits of collaborative working within the context of the Torbay Cultural Strategy – Enjoy, talk, do, be.”

This event was part a wider programme of initiatives funded by Arts Council England to ensure culture’s contribution to social and economic development in the Bay, following their support of the development and launch of Torbay’s new cultural strategy last year.
