The summer parking charges to Torbay car parks came into force yesterday and the charges for on street parking changed today, Thursday 22 March 2018.
When customers are paying for parking they are advised to check the machines and the backboard to ensure they are paying the correct tariff.
The cost of an annual permit has stayed at £365, following the reduction made last year from £510.
Daily parking charges have remained the same as last year whilst there has been a change to the overnight parking service. Four extra hours are now available with this tariff.
Residents are also being reminded about purchasing the off peak permit to help reduce their cost of parking. The permit costs £50 for a year and can be used between 3 pm and 10 am the next morning in all council car parks except pay on exits. This permit makes the cost of parking at being less than £1 a week.
Executive Lead for Community Services, Councillor Robert Excell, said: “Parking charges are largely the same as last year and I am pleased that parking in Torbay will continue to be affordable. The only place that this is not the case is with the overnight parking service, which has seen an increase in price to reflect the four extra hours available with this option.”
