Torquay caravan fire believed to be deliberate

The fire service were called to reports of a caravan fire in Torquay in the early hours of this morning.

One fire engine from Torquay and one from Paignton were mobilised to the fire on Teignmouth Road just before 2.30am.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Upon arrival, crews found one caravan on a public highway which was well alight, crews used their hose reel jets to extinguish the fire which was believed to be deliberate ignition”

The caravan was destroyed in the fire.

Police are investigating.
