Torquay hotel evacuated due to fire

The Grand Hotel in Torquay has been evacuated this morning, Friday 11 February due to a fire.

Emergency services were called after reports of smoke coming from the spa area of the hotel.

Six fire engines plus support appliances were mobilised to the incident.

Fire, police and ambulance crews are at the scene on Torbay Road.

Rathmore Road is partially closed and Hennapyn Road partially blocked.

The severity of the fire is not yet known.
