Transit vans targeted by thieves in Newton Abbot

Appeal for witnesses following serious M5 collision 

Police are appealing for information after four transit vans in Newton Abbot were targeted by thieves and valuable power tools were stolen.

Three thefts occurred overnight 2nd-3rd of March in Quay Road, Templers Road and Southernhay and a fourth happened overnight on 3rd-4th March in Salisbury Road. Power tools and hand tools worth thousands were stolen, mainly drills batteries, charges and powered saws.

The offenders also stole CCTV camera equipment from some of the vans.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around any of the targeted vans areas at the time of the offences and are  keen to hear from anyone who has been offered second-hand power tools for sale in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting crime reference CR/015682/17.
