Universe of Sound seeks volunteers in Torbay

Universe of Sound is a large-scale walk-through experience that offers visitors the chance to step inside an orchestra, to feel the sensation of being among more than 100 expert musicians and experience the thrill of walking amongst them, via giant projections, surround sound and interactive stations dotted throughout the installation.

“We are seeking volunteers in Torbay, Plymouth and Cornwall to work on iOrchestra to support the public in exploring Universe of Sound. Whether you can give a few hours or several days, we want to hear from you – get involved and help us bring high quality classical music alive across the South West!

“We are seeking fantastic volunteers to help make the second year of iOrchestra bigger and better than the first! We need you to get involved and bring your skills and experience to help make Universe of Sound come to life. We see this as a two-way partnership: for us, we are seeking people in and from the regions in which we are working. We are offering the chance to work with music, education, production, and event-management professionals. We have created a programme of training and support which will enable your role in iOrchestra to be part of a wider and longer-term cultural development: for you and for your community.”

Universe of Sound will be coming to:

Armada Way, Plymouth 27 April – 9 May (10.00am – 6.00pm);

Torre Abbey Meadows, Torquay 25 May – 6 June (10.00am – 6.00pm);

Lemon Quay, Truro 29 June – 11 July (10.00am – 6.00pm).

Think this could be for you? Please get in touch by visiting http://www.iorchestra.co.uk/get_involved or email your CV and no more than 300 words outlining what interests you about the role and how you can contribute to making UoS a success to edward.mackay@philharmonia.co.uk.

If you would like to discuss the opportunity further then please phone Laura Forster on 07943 376893.
