Sox, a cat well known in Torquay town centre went missing yesterday, Friday 19 February, following a dog attack. (You can read more about the incident here)
After a search by his owners and local residents, he was found today, stuck on a roof. Local roofer Richard Hammond from Roofseal, helped by Tony Bickford were able to safely get Sox from the roof but unfortunately, Sox made a dash for freedom.
Owner Terri said: “I would like to thank everyone that was involved in the search and rescue of Sox in the last 2 days. I really appreciate everyone’s help and kindness during this time.
“Although he is now off the roof he did run off once he got down so he’s still not home yet. As soon as he home I will be arranging to take him to the vets to be checked over and then let everyone know the out come.
“I am so overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone and thank you so much to the 2 roofers Richard and Tony that came out and got on the roof to get Sox down. I don’t know how to thank everyone of you or how to show our gratitude for everything everyone has done for us. We really are so thankful for everything.”
It is hoped Sox will make his way home now he is no longer stuck. If you see Sox, you can message Spotted Torquay who will put you in contact with his owner. You can join us on our social media pages, follow us on Facebook or Twitter and keep up to date with whats going on in South Devon.
