Appeal for information after historic railway carriages vandalised

An appeal for information has been launched after vandals caused an estimate £5000 worth of damage to a historic railway station and carriages belonging to South Devon Railway.

The incident happened in Buckfastleigh in the early hours of Friday 20th January.

The station, built in 1872 was broken in to and windows of carriages were smashed. Volunteers have started to repair the damage.

South Devon Railway posted CCTV images of the incident on Facebook.

Any information on the break-in should be reported to the police by calling 101 and quoting Crime Reference No. CR-004646-17.
